2013 ESMA finalists announced

Forget the Oscar and BAFTA nominees. Voting in the PagePlay Equestrian Social Media Awards (ESMAs) is now open!

This year, the competition has been bigger and more competitive than ever, with 10,016 nominations received in just 12 days.

These have been whittled it down to 297 finalists from over 90 countries.

Director of ESMAs Liam Killen said:

“We were delighted to receive so many nominations this year. The ESMAs goes from strength to strength with every year and it’s inspiring to see the global equine community embracing social media in a way which benefits the entire industry.”

The Science Bit

The ten best nominees have been selected based on:

• The strength of supporting statements made in nominations.
• The degree to which they are active and engaging in their online efforts.
• Their adherence to the rules of the social media platforms they use.

The finalists will now be awarded a score, which is based 75% on the views of the Expert Panel and 25% on a public vote.

No need to buy a ticket!

Unlike other award ceremonies, this isn’t one you have to buy ball gown for or spend a fortune on a ticket to attend – all you need is access to YouTube. In the spirit of social media the ESMA Team will create an awards show you can attend from the comfort of your home – in fact, you can wear your breeches if you so desire (though by all means feel free to dress up and watch it with a bottle of champagne).

Finalists create 30 second ESMA acceptance speech videos in which they can show off their creative side. The winners will be announced during ESMA Week (25 Feb – 1 Mar) when an awards ceremony video will go live each day.

Voting closes 8 February. Submit your votes here.
